Mike Ritlop, B.Sc. (Exercise Science), RYT-200

Managing Director & Yoga Consultant for Athletes

Mike developed a love of sports and all things athletic at a young age. From his early beginnings playing tennis, hockey, and elite-level baseball, to his current passion for cycling and running, his multiple experiences continue to strengthen his resolve to remain actively involved in sports and fitness.

He's a graduate of the Concordia University Exercise Science program in Montreal, an active member of Yoga Alliance, and specializes in Yoga for Athletes. Because of his personal experience in overcoming chronic back pain with Yoga, he feels compelled to share the practical benefits of a mind-body conditioning approach with other athletes. Since 2008, he has completed over 400 hours of studies with renowned yoga teachers Mark Darby and Hart Lazer, and he continues to constantly expand his knowledge of how holistic methods apply to athletes.

By combining the elements of Ashtanga, Hatha, and Iyengar yoga, his programs are designed to specifically address the unique needs of athletes – according to sport and season, in order to help them realize their individual capacities to perform better, recover quicker, and remain injury-free.

Corinne Poracchia, CYT

Advisor

A Physical Education graduate from Lyon, France, a former model, and founder of the Folio modeling agency, Corinne started her yoga practice in Autumn of 2000. After several weeks of regular practice, she quickly realized that yoga would become much more than just another physical activity that promised to bring balance into her life as a businesswomen.

Since then, yoga has indeed become an integral part of her daily life. In an effort to expand her practice, she has participated in workshops with Hart Lazer, Leigh Evans, Gérard Arnaud, Richard Freeman, John Friend, Desirée Rumbaugh, and many others. In 2007, she completed her first yoga teacher training with Lyne St-Roch. She then completed a 12-month Ashtanga yoga teacher training with Mark Darby in 2008.

Corinne believes that every person can experience wellness and a sense of calm if they feel good about themselves. By emphasizing breath control, concentration, and the balance between strength and flexibility, she conducts her classes in a way that encourages students to refine their own body-mind awareness. As she enthusiastically continues to teach and develop her own practice, Corinne hopes to uplift people and help them discover the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.

Geneviève Dion, CYT

Professeur

Instructor

Geneviève has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Throughout that time she has been actively involved in different sports (cross-country skiing, cycling, and running).

Under the guidance of noted yoga teacher Hart Lazer, Geneviève's studies have prepared her to teach Ashtanga and Hatha yoga. She combines these two styles in a way that helps her students discover the therapeutic and recuperative effects for themselves. As Geneviève continues to pursue her athletic activities with a refined physical and mental awareness, her goal is to also help others develop a better mind-body connection so that they can prevent injuries and achieve a greater sense of well-being.
